Opinion:I've been told I'm supposed to brag about my amazingness ad nauseam. But my culture taught me that if there's anything praiseworthy about me, it's best to let others say it. What I can say is more than a few colleagues have described me as unusually creative, always positive, innovative, passionate, trustworthy, without ego, a novel solution go-to, and lots of fun to work with.Fact:I'm an all-medium designer, artist, brand system expert, design thinker, and endless idea generator. I love design in all its forms, which likely springs from the natural artistic abilities I inherited from my father. My professional experience includes being an Art Director in post-production, a Brand Strategist in healthcare, a Designer and Innovator in health science research, a Creative Director for a small design firm, and a Lead Visual Designer for the largest US online university.I have an AA degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from Minneapolis Community and Technical College, a BA in Business Management from Bethel University in St. Paul, an MBA from Bethel University, a Marketing Strategy for Business Leaders certificate from Cornell University, and a Mayo Quality Improvement Certificate from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. My talents include conceptual sketching, visualizing complexity, brand analysis, crafting visual systems, web design, developing brand systems, creative strategy, listening, empathy, connecting dots, encouraging others, generative AI, optimizing UX, UI, and Illustration. My technical skills include Adobe CS tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro, Aero, and Figma. I craft generative AI imagery and design components with tools like Midjourney, Krea, FireFly, and Stable Diffusion. I am also fluent in Microsoft products like Sharepoint, Powerpoint, Excel, Word, and Teams, and the many one-off design tools I collect.Design Thinking is my approach. I analyze, brainstorm, visualize, prototype, test, then iterate. I ask a lot of questions to ensure the result is human-centered and provides the most intuitive solution possible. I love cool aesthetics, I really do, but whatever project I'm working on, I solve the problem first.Truth:Mission-driven companies that contribute to more than just their bottom line are my top considerations for a new opportunity. So, yes, I'm open to working at an optimistic company with a broader purpose and an entrepreneurial spirit where ideas, novel thinking, and authenticity are prized. Thanks for reading. I know your time is valuable.
