The Executive Director oversees operations for the Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature, a nonprofit organization. In 2008 Iowa City joined the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization’s Creative Cities Network when it was designated the first City of Literature in the United States, the third in the world. It is now one of 53. The City of Literature provides opportunities for researching, conceptualizing, designing, developing and implementing innovative and collaborative literary-centered activities, and establishes the Iowa City area as a destination for visitors, provide opportunities for collaboration with area academic, arts, business and government organizations.

Magazine Writing and Reporting

Oversaw all editorial content in the weekly Corridor Business Journal, including assignment and editing of stories, working with reporters and other content providers. I also interacted with creative department on the creation of each week's paper. In addition, I oversaw the editorial content of our other products, including our own magazines (such as Entrepreneur 101), contract publications (such as Diversity Focus' Inclusive Communities) and books (John Langhorne's Beyond Luck). I also oversaw our electronic content, including our daily e-mail news update and our web site.

Over the course of a decade, covered education, business, environment, city government and, for the last five years, arts and entertainment. Served as editor of the Johnson County Today Sunday supplement product for two years.
