I serve as the Office and Facilities Manager for Assurance Agency, Ltd. Assurance is among the nation’s largest and most awarded independent insurance brokerages. We offer expertise in all lines of business and personal insurance and employee benefit programs. Founded in 1961, we’re headquartered in Schaumburg, IL where over 300 insurance professionals provide analysis, advice and service to thousands of clients. In my role, I am responsible for overseeing the facilities of our three offices located in Schaumburg, IL, Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO which totals 100,000 sq. ft. This included day to day upkeep, implementing internal branding projects, overseeing successful electronic conversion and coding of all incoming mail, negotiating prices and contracts with vendors as well as acting as the internal project manager for any construction project we are undertaking including our new Chicago office. In addition to managing the facilities side of our company, I am also responsible for the hiring, training and development of our Insurance Support Coordinators (ISC). During their time on my team, an ISC starts to learn the basics of not only our unique company culture, but also start to develop basic insurance knowledge and professional skills. The intent is to have the ISCs promoted off of my team to become a successful Client Services Representatives. This is done through team shadowing, licensing courses, designation courses, internal team training and one on one training with me. Watching my former team members take on additional roles and responsibilities at the company is one of the most rewarding aspects of my position.
