CurrentAt the American Chemistry Council, I serve as a Senior Director of Regulatory & Scientific Affairs, where I lead a dynamic team and drive global initiatives focused on regulatory compliance and sustainability within the chemical industry. In this role, I oversee research, advocacy, and coalition management efforts, working collaboratively to advance our objectives and foster positive change in the industry.A few key achievements in this tenure include:• Spearheaded development of domestic and international research portfolio, policy, and advocacy strategy to advance chemical sustainability and regulatory compliance.• Directed international microplastic research program ($12M+ invested) to tackle emerging concern of microplastics while securing partnerships with seven Fortune 500 companies, international university researchers, and external laboratories.• Managed coalition teams to address global chemical and waste treaties, including Basel, Stockholm, and UN agreement on plastic waste, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.• Built robust relationships with country delegates, academic and governmental scientists, and standard-setting organizations like ASTM to harmonize environmental methodologies and metrics, fostering global cooperation.• Launched microplastic advanced research and innovation initiative (MARII) to facilitate global information exchange and collaboration on cutting-edge microplastic science, enhancing transparency and knowledge dissemination.• Executed global campaign to increase transparency on use of chemicals in plastic and to improve sustainability solutions across value chain.• Provide mentorship, career development, and coaching to staff in order to enhance organizational efficiency and career satisfaction.
