During my compulsory one-year National Youth Service, I had the privilege to lead and oversee a team of over 200 Youth Corp Members in the Community Development Arm of The World Health Organization (Ureport). Our primary focus was to gather valuable data from the service community located in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The purpose of collecting this data was to identify areas for improvement in the quality of livelihood, specifically in the domains of education, health and safety, as well as girl child protection and education.Working closely with the community members, we conducted thorough assessments and surveys to gather relevant information. This data played a crucial role in identifying key areas of concern and allowed us to develop targeted strategies and interventions. Through collaborative efforts and community engagement, we implemented initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education, improving healthcare services, promoting safety measures, and ensuring the protection and empowerment of girls.By leveraging the insights gained from the data, we were able to make informed decisions and drive meaningful change in the community. It was a rewarding experience to contribute to the betterment of the lives of individuals in Abeokuta, and I am proud to have been part of this impactful endeavor during my National Youth Service.
