About J.P. Rickabaugh

I’ve never really stayed in one spot for too long. Instead of getting comfortable in routines, I seek out new experiences and opportunities. I didn’t really fit in in my hometown, so I sought out a new life at the North Carolina School of Science and Math. It was great, but it still didn’t feel right. So I kept looking and ended up studying Interactive Multimedia in UNC’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, finally finding somewhere I could be challenged in the right way. Since finding “my place”, I still challenged myself to seek out new things. New knowledge, new opportunities, and new skills. I explored my interests in the classroom and out. Although I was only required to take IM classes, I also tried photojournalism, graphic design, motion graphics, and a handful of other great opportunities offered by the Hussman School. In my free time, I pursued my interest in music by beginning a music review series, while also tying in that interest into my classwork and professional work. By always being on the lookout for the next great new adventure, I stay motivated and excited to see what life has to offer.
