I am a professional with a rich academic and research background, currently Co-Coordinator of the Master and Doctoral programs in Steel and Composite Construction at the University of Coimbra. In my role, which I assumed in November 2023, I am dedicated to ensuring the academic excellence of these programs and facilitating transformative educational experiences for students. Additionally, as the Coordinator for Mobility Programs at the Civil Engineering Department, I take pride in fostering international collaborations. I have been actively engaged in academia for more than 13 years. Currently I am Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering Department at the University of Coimbra since January 2021. My focus on steel structures and stability has allowed me to contribute significantly to the field through research and teaching. My journey at the University of Coimbra extends beyond teaching and coordination roles. Having started as a Visiting Lecturer in September 2013, I progressed through various roles, including Visiting Assistant Professor and Visiting Assistant Researcher. Currently, I continue my research as an integrated member the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE). Over my 13-year tenure at ISISE, I have been dedicated to cutting-edge initiatives within the Nonlinear Design & Stability and Energy, Oil & Gas clusters.Moreover, I am deeply involved in activities related to standardization and rules development. Currently, I serve as a member and secretary of the Portuguese mirror group to CEN/TC250/SC3. Additionally, I actively contribute to the efforts of the groups CEN/TC250/SC3/WG5 and CEN/TC250/SC3/WG6. Through these roles, I play a part in shaping and advancing the standardization processes within the field of steel structures, ensuring that our contributions align with international best practices and standards.
