Joyce began her career at ILSA as an Annual Returns Specialist in August of 2005. Her quick understanding of complex regulatory matters and keen attention to detail landed her in the Surplus Lines Tax Department in December of 2005. During her stint as a Tax Specialist, Joyce exhibited outstanding initiative, problem solving skills and a vast understanding of the intricacies of surplus lines tax. In January of 2007 she was promoted to Supervisor of the Surplus Lines Tax Department. One year later, in January of 2008, Joyce moved up the ranks once again to become Surplus Lines Tax Manager, where she guided her crew until June of 2010. As manager of the ILSA Tax Team, her department was responsible for Surplus Lines Tax Filings: Preparation of surplus lines tax filings and reports for licensed individuals and agencies, and continually research each state’s requirements to prevent fines/penalties for our clients. This area also responsible for Annual Returns & Corporate Tax Filings: Prepare annual returns for Secretary of State, prepare corporate tax returns for Department of Revenue to maintain compliance of authority to do business in each non-resident state, and assist with corporate qualification for each required state. Joyce left ILSA for a short time and returned in 2012 where she was asked to take on the position of Project/Compliance Coordinator Supervisor. After leading the project/compliance coordinators for several years, Joyce was asked to take on a new challenge... ILSA Quality Assurance Administrator in 2017. Joyce has been recognized for her leadership skills and customer service initiatives throughout her tenure at ILSA. She has been called “an amazing asset to her employer”, “committed, professional and of great character”, by executives at one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in North America.

Prior to entering the insurance industry in licensing/compliance Joyce spent nine years working in corrections in the private prisons sector. Many of those years were at the rank of Lieutenant overseeing areas such as Classification/Transportation Intake/Release of inmates, Commissary/Laundry and Security as well as serving on the ACA Acreditation team. Joyce worked very closely with various county, state and federal officials coordinating the transportation and classification of 'out of county', 'out of state', and BOP/INS inmates.
