As a BattleBots referee I am responsible for presiding over the game from a neutral point of view and making on-the-fly decisions that enforce the rules of the sport, including, Incapacitation, knockout, sportsmanship and safety. A BattleBots Tournament celebrates the sport of robotic combat through a contest of battling machines.Teams design, build and control combat robots to demonstrate their creativity, engineering skills, strategy, and driving ability. My primary job function is to watch the match closely to ensure that the rules are adhered to and assist in arbitrating on matters arising from the play.
