I’m a trial and appellate advocate, state agency head, and authority on the intersection of law, politics, and money. For the last four years, I have advanced the Texas Ethics Commission’s interests in courtrooms, legislative chambers, and executive branch offices. Before entering public service, I spent ten years litigating commercial and IP disputes, first with McKool Smith and later becoming a partner of Kelly, Hart & Hallman. I have represented defendants and plaintiffs in cases asserting patents and other intellectual property, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, fraud, securities, and environmental matters.
