I have worked in the medical field for more than a decade and not only understand the various complex workflows, but also the subcultures that exist in the clinical areas. My professional experiences have allowed a well-rounded view of the modern healthcare environment, the people and resources that make it up, and what it takes to support the clinical staff while providing the care that the patients expect and deserve. It is my experience that to truly understand medical workflow is to understand people and how technology supports them; to understand real world situations and the practicality of applications to be effective in those moments. In the end, a successful implementation is one where the user feels that we have added value and efficiency to their lives, not confusion.
