I serve as the second reader on ~30 students masters theses per year helping them develop a research question from a thorough literature review on topics in a broad range of medical fields and design a study to answer it. I also created and ran a Public Health Elective during the clinical phase of the program and developed the Equity, Vitality and Inclusion (EVI) Discussion Group as a forum for students, faculty, and staff to confront personal and societal biases in the discussion of a specific topic; recent topics have included racism within health metrics, structural racism, LGBTQ+ health, disparities in COVID, and eugenics in the US. Additionally, I spearheaded the creation of and chair an ad hoc committee, the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, to create goals on Diversity and Inclusion for the program, evaluate how well it is meeting those goals and to suggest changes to the program on ways in which to improve. Additionally, I am responsible for program evaluation and assessment of the Physician Assistant Program through the collection and analysis of data on: course performance; student performance; admissions; and program goals to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and program. I must also provide digestible highlights of results of program assessment for discussion via dashboards and/or printed reports. I continued projects began during my tenure at UCSF, including one investigating the association of environmental exposures to adverse birth outcomes in Kenya, as well as began investigating the increase in malaria cases among children of 5 to 13-years old attending mobile clinics in Malawi and analyses of a large dataset on the etiology of pneumonia in Zambia (see specific project details below)

I contribute to reviewing organization programs in Malawi and preparing report for Board of Trustees.I collaborate with Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to analyse and create visualizations of routine monitoring data, facilitating provision of insights into programs.

I worked on a variety of global health projects across multiple schools and departments using a variety of research methods, including economic modeling of preterm birth interventions, mixed-methods approaches to explore barriers of males toward voluntary HIV testing in Malawi, and mixed-methods approaches to improving the uptake and use of LPG-stoves in Guatemala and Kenya (see specific project details below)
