CaRMS, the Canadian Resident Matching Service, is a not-for-profit organization responsible for providing application and information services for students and residents advancing through their medical education. Operationally, I am responsible for ensuring our clients receive white glove care. My team is designed to ensure that conversations are captured, information is shared, and improvements are made all with the client at the forefront.Strategically, I am used very liberally by both our executive team and external client groups. Internally, I was a key contributor to establishing our strategy for the next three years as well significant involvement in building the map and scorecard, respectively. Externally, I participate regularly and ad-hoc as a subject matter expert to help guide improvements to the medical education resident recruitment process.Successes I have had professionally include: developing a nation-wide service for subspecialty training positions in medicine; developing and implementing a strategy to re-align our workplace culture with our strategic objectives, primarily focusing on a client-first solutions system; promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement while also developing the skill myself; consulting with stakeholder decision makers on the largest challenges in medical education and developing recommendations for change.
