Shifted from R&D unit to production unit. In the beginning of the year updating of operating and quality inspection instructions and ERP-structures for the antenna compounds was my main task. At the moment I am also taking care of instructions for the whole production unit of white (or not black) products. I also have a R&D/product managing responsibility for some older products and tolling service compounds.

Making operating instructions for the production campaigns of antenna compounds which include production and the quality inspection. Especially getting the pilot production procedures to meet and even exceed company standards has been one of the biggest achievements in this position.

Pilot/sample level plastic compounding with functional fillers and analysis of plastic compounds. Analysis methods include traditional tools for plastics as well as measuring electrical (and dielectric) properties of different compounds.Often handling the whole customer sample process (antenna compounds) after required feed back from the sales team.Also maintenance of pilot compounding lines and developing the whole pilot line work environment (with the help of 5 S ideology) by planning and executing plans accordingly. Developing the sample delivery chain more efficient has been the biggest achievement in this position.

Multiple tasks related to development of manufacturing processes such as taking part to the value stream mapping (VSM)-cycles and actually drawing the maps. I also got plenty of small projects mostly associated with material flow and storage at the production lines. As my most remarkable achievements I proceeded further the use of new building components for kanban boxes and I also implemented new kanbans and storage boxes for different mechanical parts.

Direct sale of safety alarm systems and services for households (face to face interaction). The work consisted of contacting tenants of row and detached houses, booking meetings and having these sale oriented meetings with them. My biggest achievement was to make the company brand more known among new potential customers.

Masters’s thesis position. The topic of the thesis was the dry-jet wet spinnability of cellulose-ionic liquid solutions: http://lib.tkk.fi/Dipl/2011/urn100560.pdf. While this work required basic research abilities, it also demanded practical project controlling skills. Experimental part of the thesis required approximately two months stay at the Institute of Textile Chemistry and Chemical Fibers

Assembling of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) devices in the power range of 225-550 kVA. Tasks icluded a vast spectrum of different assembly phases which has given me a good overall view of the physical composition of UPS-devices. Before this summer I had already been working here two previous summers assembling UPS-devices in the power range of 40-160 kVA.
