I possess a strong volunteering history in social programs and education with children, youth, and young adults.The purpose of teaching in schools is to empower students to engage in discourses pertaining to the impact of science, math, humanities, and the arts on everyday life. By understanding the effects, impact, and context of what they learn, students are equipped to make responsible and informed decisions in the issues of society.My teaching is focused on developing engaged thinkers and ethical citizens with an entrepreneurial mindset (Alberta Education, 2011). Through authentic inquiry and performance assessment tasks, I am adept at developing 21st century skills in students through the Program of Studies. My biggest strength is the ability to develop strong relationships with students and colleagues, which is the key to a successful learning environment.
