Content Developer
A content developer combines the traditional roles of designer, product manager and developer. A content developer takes ownership of a project, based on a core aim brief, designs and then develops that project from beginning to end. It involves managing the project and making cuts/changes where necessary to meet the project deadline. In addition to managing the project the role also requires interaction with the player community. This is done via the game, social media and the games forums. As a developer you keep the players interested and up to date, whilst presenting the face of the company in the most positive light. At RuneFest (our regular player convention) I've also helped organise and run player sessions, live-action events and been a speaker on several panels as well as interacted directly with players.
Community Manager
This role required creating a rapport with the player base for both FunOrb and RuneScape. It involved managing player expectations, resolving their problems and ultimately being the face for Jagex with regards to the players. Additionally it involved creating and running events to maintain player activity, such as tournaments and competitions. Additionally whilst working at FunOrb I created a forum RPG which helped maintain player retention during a period when game updates were low.
Customer Support Representative
Handling player account issues and queries. Resetting passwords and identifying when an account had been compromised and resolving that. It also required enforcing the rules of the game and making sure that accounts only received the appropriate level of punishment. Additionally I was curator for advertising complaints, which involved making sure that the website adverts that we had running, were appropriate for our audience and flagging the adverts and advertisers that were showing dangerous or inappropriate adverts.
Endowment Complaints Administrater
The crux of this role was data entry. It involved checking that third party advisors had followed the correct procedures and then making sure all the customers information was correct and up to date so that their complaint could be handled. It also involved responding to customer queries via telephone as well as a good understanding of data protection laws.
