As a participant in a NSF REU, I worked alone on a specific problem in combinatorics. Responsibilities included giving weekly presentations on my progress to the other program participants. During this period I solved the given problem and produced a paper for publication. I presented my findings at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in 2013.

Mount Pleasant, Michigan

As a participant in a NSF REU, I worked with three other undergraduates on open-ended questions on the topic of frames in finite dimensions, in the area of matrix theory. We ultimately published two papers based on that summer's work and presented our findings at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in 2012 and 2013.
