Created and oversaw every aspect of neighborhood improvements in the Lawrence-Kedzie Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district, from designing programs, taking applications, drawing up project specifications, selecting contractors, and managing construction, to managing contracts. Rehabilitated 453 units of affordable housing. Developed plans for further.

Researched and wrote legislation and supporting documentation. Highlights included writing a recycled purchasing ordinance, and amendments to the County’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan and creating materials instrumental in passing the Cook County Domestic Partnership Ordinance. Also assisted constituents with County services, and engaged in community.

Oversaw implementation of a $3 million Strategic Neighborhood Action Program (SNAP) grant. Duties required coordination between two Aldermen, five neighborhood civic associations, the City of Chicago Departments of Housing, Transportation and Planning and Development. Accomplishments included restoration of historically significant commercial facades, free.
