James is a Scheme Actuary to Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes with experience in providing a wide range of actuarial advice and consultancy services to pension scheme trustees and corporate clients, including the following: - Scheme funding valuations and advice for DB pension schemes - Corporate accounting for pensions (IAS19, FRS102, FAS87) - Advice on Pension Protection Fund levies - Actuarial factors and transfer value bases - Scheme mergers and winding-up - Liability management exercises - Management and governance - Corporate transactions - Investment strategy - Solvency IIJames has extensive experience in valuing share-based payments and preparing accounting disclosures under IFRS2 and FRS102 for a wide range of companies, from small unquoted companies to several FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies. This includes all types of Executive and Employee share plans and awards such as stock options and share grants under Long Term Incentive Plans (LTIP), Performance Share Plans (PSP) and employee share schemes.He also does modelling and consultancy in the Oil and Gas industry.James graduated from Exeter College, University of Oxford with a Masters degree in Mathematics in 2006, joined Barnett Waddingham in September 2006 and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2010.
