Working in a small firm has given me a vast array of experience. At Cascade, I am able to touch on everything from tax planning and preparation, audit of small and medium sized companies, advising on year end and day-to-day internal accounting. There I am able to service a wide variety of client in construction, restaurant, property management and not-for-profits. This wide experience allows me to take situations from many different companies and use that to best service the client's needs with expert advice.

Upon completion of the CFE in September 2019, I was promoted to Senior accountant at the firm. As a senior accountant with BBLLP I was tasked with leading small audit teams. As the senior, it was my role to plan, train and guide the junior accountants on the engagement. This provided me first hand experience in managing peers.

At Buchanan, Barry LLP (BBLLP) I continued and completed my articling and CPA modules. It was here I was able to obtain the audit experience and expertise necessary to successfully complete my CPA exam and designation. The knowledge gained at BBLLP armed me with the expertise to take complex accounting scenarios and simplify them into an easily understood format. BBLLP exposed me to many different areas of financial reporting. This included ASPE, IFRS, ASNPO and other specialized accounting frame works.

While employed at with Wilson Wong, I was exposed to a wide variety of businesses. For those businesses we would help with reconciling monthly reports, preparing regular payroll, regular sales tax filing and calculations, as well as day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable.It was with Wilson Wong & Associates I started articling towards my CPA designation. Combining the education and work experience allowed me to advice clients on more complex tax and accounting matters.

As a local tax consultant, I was in charge of managing my own book of business. This entailed me to advise the clients on tax related and tax planning matters. I ensured accurate and timely tax compliance for all members of my book of business. I was in charge of over $300,000 in annual client revenue and 200 clients. This provided me with entrepreneurial skills, as well as a management mind set, while being client focused.
