My job is to create science-based solutions to pressing social problems. In my current research, I am focused on addressing mis- and dis-information and the integrity of information in general. We are developing products to automatically identify mis- and disinformation in online spaces as part of Trust and Safety. We are also developing account verification processes for social listening, ensuring the voices we hear online are authentic. In my role as CEO of Volunteer Science, I lead an organization trying to revolutionize the way online research is conducted by knitting together advances in behavioral measurement, world-wide online recruitment, and large-scale participant management. As the Director of the Social Design lab at Northeastern University, I help social scientists translate their research into solutions that solve problems. We are cultivating a culture of entrepreneurship, building a community of scientist-innovators, and getting solutions out into the world.

Us
I hand-coded interviews with parents and children in Chicago Public Schools regarding school security, classroom assignments, goals for the year, and long-term visions of students' future. Working closely with the principal investigator and other assistants, I worked to develop the codebook, provided preliminary results, and helped construct a framework for the subsequent analysis of the interview data.
My work involved subject recruitment and information management, questionnaire design, survey distribution, data cleaning, and reporting in Excel and SPSS. I identified and contacted eligible study participants, contributed to the wording and order of questionnaires, wrote SPSS formatting and cleaning syntax, regularly checked data quality, performed descriptive statistics, implemented sample control procedures, and created regular reports for the principal investigator.
I collaborated closely with the director, marketing personnel, and external researchers to review existing survey methods, industry research, and previous client engagements to design new systems for selecting clients, developing new products, and measuring client outcomes. As a part of this work, I created a Salesforce database for the organization’s client database, standardized survey measures, analyzed survey data, and created a reporting template for client engagements.
