I'm a published author and writer, with a background in multi-format media production largely culled from social movements. Narrative is the foundation of how we make sense of the world and how we engage with it creatively. We think based on the stories we hear others tell, from an early age. In turn, the stories we tell are enormously consequential. Stories shape systems of discrimination and oppression, and they can empower us to challenge them. Therein, listening is often as critical to narrative as the telling.I bring a detailed attention to how language and voice can be emotionally provocative, across mediums. In particular, how we can create new possibilities and engage broad audiences by dispensing with conventional narratives and de-centering dominant voices.Former professional dogwalker.
