About Jennifer Stuart
Dr. Jennifer Stuart is a reproductive and cardiovascular epidemiologist in the Division of Women’s Health within the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School and in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.Through her research, Dr. Stuart seeks to translate observational findings on female-specific and -predominant risk factors for cardiometabolic disease into actionable solutions to improve the health of women. She has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on 9 successful federal, foundation, or institutional grants. Currently supported by an NHLBI K01 Career Development Award, Dr. Stuart is utilizing quantitative and qualitative methods and real-world, clinical data to address the urgent, yet largely undocumented, mental health needs of women with adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) and to leverage the “stress test” of pregnancy to improve the cardiovascular health of women. A second active area of research involves the utilization of female-specific and-predominant risk markers in risk prediction to improve identification of those at risk for cardiovascular disease risk factors and events for targeted screening and prevention. Dr. Stuart’s research projects have drawn on data from local birth cohorts; small national and international randomized controlled trials; registries; electronic health records; and the large prospective cohort studies, the Nurses’ Health Study II (NHSII) and 3 (NHS3). She has published over 40 peer-reviewed research publications in prominent medical journals (e.g., Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of the American College of Cardiology) and given over 16 invited oral presentations at local, national, and international conferences. Dr. Stuart has also served as an epidemiology consultant to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, contributing strategic guidance, curated evidence, and epidemiologic expertise to inform product development, signal detection and monitoring, and study design and conduct across a wide range of therapeutic areas.Publications: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/myncbi/1ZWCzxTdmaykq/bibliography/public/
