Akagu is a reverse auction platform for independent designer labels. Akagu was built in response to the unsustainable "race to the bottom" in terms of pricing in the fashion retail space. The reverse auction was a pricing solution that allowed brands to set the price range a customer could pay, whilst for the customer, they could choose the price they were willing to pay. As a platform, Akagu would also provide brands a more effective channel to build brand awareness. Akagu reverse auctions resulted in an increase in margin of more than 10% on sales for brands whilst providing a fun, exciting, and empowering experience for customers. During the period that Akagu operated, over 50 brands sold on the platform with thousands of users participating in the auctions.
