To me, cybersecurity isn’t just a hobby or job, it is a passion of mine and I dream of making a living doing work I truly love. I have always thrived working with computers, enjoy learning new skills, and always strive to go above and beyond expectations. I possess the ability to perform tasks alone with keen attention to detail and work through problems using creative problem-solving, all while maintaining a positive and motivated demeanor. My name is Joseph Thomas Cavallaro, however I go by JT Cavallaro. I am a graduate of Utica University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity with and specialization in Cyber Operations. Two and a half of attending Utica, due to COVID-19, I was a full-time online student and was able to maintain a track record of quickly learning new skills when working unsupervised all while maintaining deadlines for projects and providing quality work above the expectations of the professors. I also held a retail job that helped me better my time management and customer service skills. Currently, I am employed as a contract worker for Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, hired through TEKSystems, titled InfoSec & Cybersecurity Engineer II/Vulnerability Analyst. I work within the Threat and Vulnerability Management and Security Operations departments. Working with Excellus has allowed me to expand on my skills, kept me up-to-date on vulnerabilities and Cybersecurity news, and hands-on experience with Cyber Tools.
