Configure and maintain the voice and data networks including the cabling infrastructure, wireless access points, switches, routers, load balancers, PBX, and ISP / Telco provisioning that make up the WAN. Establish and enforce security with firewalls, monitor performance via SNMP and troubleshoot problems with protocol analyzers. Provide 24x7 operations of phone systems, file servers, email systems, web sites, and remote access. Configure, troubleshoot and update server hardware and virtualized operating systems and perform preventative maintenance. Configure and maintain the disaster recovery location in parallel with the production site. Help avert and recover from outages with redundant and highly available network and data storage solutions. Maintain up to date documentation of network and PBX hardware and software. Research and evaluate new services, test and implement them, provide training to support staff, and leadership over deployment to Windows, Mac and Linux clients.

Provided complete hardware support for workstations, laptops and all associated peripherals. Provided software support to 300+ users including Windows 95/98, Microsoft Office, Lotus, GroupWise, Netscape and various in house applications. Performed administrative functions under a Netware 4.11 networking environment including user accounts, e-mail accounts and printers. Provided group training for GroupWise and one on one training for other various applications.

Assisted in maintaining the Rolm PBX; installed and tested cabling for telephones and computers. Performed administrative functions under a Netware 3.12 networking environment including user accounts and printers. Filled in temporarily as a night operator, running and printing reports.

Learned about and sold items in the hardware, seasonal and electrical departments. Worked nights temporarily, managing a remodeling project and assisting vendors with the setup of their product displays.
