As a pre-press tech i take in jobs from customers of all backgrounds and check them for print readiness. This includes, color correcting, color conversion, dpi and size correction, overprint and knockout correction. At this time, if required, dies for foil, embossing, debossing or cutting are created and sent off to their manufacturers. All work is done on Macintosh work stations utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud 2015. Once jobs have gone through the proofing process and are ready for print, I rip the files for color separations and trapping, and impose and paginate files for printing plates to be made via CTP. As a Graphic Designer at Pacific Art Press I have the opportunity to work with many different types of customers and businesses to create whatever they may request. This could be anything from a business card to a 100 page technical document and everything in between. As the pre-press manager i worked closely with the sales team, scheduling and pressroom staff and management to work at producing superior products and service on time and within budget. Color accuracy is also a big deal at a printing company and it is also my responsibility to maintain monitor to press color accuracy. This entails weekly monitor calibrations and regularly scheduled press calibration checks and changes if necessary.

Spa in the City is my wife's passion, as such I do as much as I can to support her and the salon's needs. Sometimes those needs are outside of the scope of my normal everyday activities and skill. I have learned how to frame walls, put up sheetrock and install cabinetry. I have found myself many times with a sledge hammer in one hand, taking down a wall that was not needed. I have taken the role of site contractor to manage a very small team of construction professionals to the ultimate goal of doubling the size of our salon. In my role as business partner I am also responsible for all of the print collateral needed such as business cards, spa menus and various advertising needs. As the days and years go by I am always wondering what's next? What will I need to learn around the corner? I look forward to these days.

Implemented a custom label program to speed the time of delivery for new products to market. This program helped keep costs down as well as literature and packaging current. Assisted with ownerships interest in saving wildcats by building websites, print collateral and signage.
