We focused on ongoing programs and novel individual events to help develop soft skills and offer support for young professionals and students. Everyday duties can ranged from event management, giving presentations, budgets, writing for publications as well as website and software development.

In this role I became responsible for managing the regional event programming for a well respected medical membership society, where traditionally the majority of events took place in the London area. I was tasked to manage and develop a national (and sometimes international) programme of 10-15 events a year to the high standards maintained for our usual in house events. My role included developing budgets and building links with other businesses and organisations whilst reaching and growing our audience in areas across the UK and occasionally beyond.

This was my first chance to prove my skills taking responsibility for the management and coordination of specialist events as part of a membership organisation. I worked closely with members, committees and experts to run a series of events in specialist areas of medicine. Events were largely based in house which allowed me to gain a complete understanding on how every aspect of events work together, from room and catering management to design, finances and marketing. I worked between all teams closely to ensure the best possible event.

I assisted in the transition from a manual administration process to more automated systems which allow me to focus more time on membership and on site support.
