Juan Delgado is a managing director at GAMES Economics and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.Juan Delgado specializes in antitrust, regulation and public policies. He has deep experience in providing independent and rigorous economic advice in legal, regulatory and policy matters. He has worked in the fields of antitrust, competition and regulatory policies, as a policymaker, as a researcher and as a consultant. Juan's expertise covers several industries including energy, climate, digital economy, media, payments, and industrial and consumer goods.Until 2011, Juan Delgado was the first-ever Chief Economist of the Spanish antitrust agency where he provided economic and econometric advice in antitrust cases and mergers and participated in the discussion and design of new policy initiatives at national and EU level.Prior to that, he was a research fellow at the influential European think-tank Bruegel and at the Harvard Kennedy School where he assessed EU and national policies, conducted non-partisan research on economic policy and provided independent advice to governments and international institutions on industry regulation and competition. He has also worked as an economist with the Competition Directorate of the European Commission and with the Spanish Telecoms regulator.Juan Delgado has written extensively in academic and policy journals. He has published in European Competition Law Review, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Industrial Economics, Economic Theory and CESifo Economic Studies. Juan teaches Competition Policy at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid and is a regular speaker at specialised events.
