About Juan Van Roy

I joined the H2 Technology and Design Team at ENGIE as an H2 Architect (Flexible Generation & Retail GBU), working on the Conceptual design of system architecture and techno-economic analysis for renewable hydrogen-based solutions.I joined the ENGIE Group in 2018 with ENGIE Impact. As a Project Manager, I specialized myself in the techno-economic modelling and assessment of multi-fluid energy supply chains and decentralized energy system applications, more specifically in the scope of Green hydrogen, its potential and competitiveness for different end-uses for decarbonization and 100 % renewable energy roadmaps. I was involved in several successful grant applications (IPCEI on Hydrogen and Innovation Fund).I started my career as researcher on electro-mobility at the University of Leuven, Belgium, including research stays at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (CA, USA) and University College Dublin (Ireland). I have experience in supporting startups, SMEs, and large corporations with innovation projects, ecological projects, and grant applications.I received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in energy, from the KU Leuven, Belgium, in 2010. I received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, from the KU Leuven, Belgium, in 2015.
