In 2010 Judith founded Insight GEO Limited. Insight GEO provides a range of services, including ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy throughout Scotland and the UK.

Judith established a new Scottish office for Geotechnics Limited in April 2002. Her responsibilities included all aspects of business development and ongoing management; ranging from initiating successful Client, subcontractor and supplier relationships; to ensuring that the work undertaken and reports produced were of a notable and consistently high quality. Judith was also the technical lead for Scotland, mentoring engineers responsible for geotechnical and geoenvironmental assessment.Covering the whole of Scotland; from Shetland to Gretna and Benbecula to Peterhead, a wide variety of ground conditions were investigated. This busy office undertook an average of 100 projects per annum, for a range of development sectors including; infrastructure, commercial, industrial, residential and schools. Project values ranged from a couple of hundered pounds for half a day of CBR probing and reporting, to £1.4 million for two Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route contracts, undertaken in three concurrent phases during 2007 and 2008. Judith was primarily responsible for the preparation of desk studies and engineering reports including both geotechnical and geoenvironmental assessment. Her role also included advising Clients on appropriate investigations for sites which may be contaminated and liaising with statutory authorities on their behalf.

Responsible for the production of interpretative geotechnical and environmental reports, often with associated desk studies. Within the subdivision of Parkman Environment, Judith produced Environmental Land Appraisals and Liability Assessments for a wide variety of sites. She was also responsible for the design and supervision of investigations for gasworks, petrol stations and tannery sites; followed by the preparation of remediation strategies to enable redevelopment. Geotechnical work included investigation of an abandoned mineshaft location and retaining wall design.

Judith was responsible for the production of interpretative reports on a wide variety of schemes, supervision and encouragement of graduate engineers and the smooth running of large or complex ground investigation contracts as Site Agent. Further examples of topics reported on include foundation design, highway scheme assessment, slope stability analysis and soakaway design.During the summer of 1991 she was Site Agent for the Department of Transport Motorway Widening Units, M6 Extension to the Scottish Border contract. Whilst working for Parkman Consulting Engineers, Judith had responsibility for on-site supervision of several ground investigation contracts. These included a new bypass at Flint, Clwyd which involved an assessment of contaminated land, a new factory extension in Shotton and an earthwork stability assessment on the M63 motorway. She also spent some time utilising existing computer software at Parkmans, so that ground investigation data could be quickly and more efficiently assessed when writing interpretative reports.
