A practical, problem-solving administrative all-rounder, enthused by working with forward-thinking colleagues seeking new ways of making a positive difference to the world and people's lives. Bringing genuine curiosity and a desire to understand situations is key to how I best add value: - sparking ideas with others and, through discussion and reflection, ensuring plans are strong and effective; - clarifying core issues and bringing knowledge and experience of relevant policies and processes to guide and support colleagues in dealing with novel or difficult situations;- thinking creatively about how to simplify and improve structures, processes and working/customer relationships. Research and analytical skills, using data and feedback to identify and explore options, have been core factors throughout most of my roles to date. Likewise exercising judgement, not least in the practical application of policies and guidelines, has been a key skill I have consistently drawn upon in conjunction with using language with accuracy, particularly in written reports, submissions and responses to complex issues. The majority of my career to date has spanned various roles in higher education administration, and working within a socially responsible environment chimes with my core values - as does taking a people-centred approach both to business processes and collaboration. Contributing to a mutually supportive working environment is more important than ever at present, and I believe humour and fellow-feeling go a long way in positive and productive teamworking in even the most difficult times.
