In the course of my work nationally and now closer to home, while my work is usually developing shared leadership teams of 6-20 members, I have also successfully worked with diverse community stakeholder groups as large as 145. I have gained significant skills as a master facilitator of the Future Search visioning and planning process and The World Cafe, a process for leading collaborative dialogue and knowledge-sharing, particularly for larger groups. This type of facilitation is complex and challenging. Participant feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.Other significant work in recent years includes work with:• as Systems Change Partner with the Northern Maine and Western Maine Education Collaboratives as well as with the Washington County Consortium. I developed their member-districts' shared leadership teams for Proficiency-Based Education.• the entire professional staff of the Maine Dept. of Education in assisting/facilitating them as a large group as they underwent systemic change around current education reform.• the Maine Association of Curriculum Directors as they developed organizational infrastructure and a strategic plan that ultimately positioned them as one of the major players in Maine education.• The University of Maine Graduate Outreach Program teaching masters level courses on Systemic Change.

For 10 years I worked with 107 High School Principals in towns and cities served by Union Pacific Railroad in the the mid-west, northwest, and southwest. My work offered client principals direct consultation and brokered supportive services to meet their leadership needs. This work was part of a larger nationally recognized program that served 1000 high school principals across 21 states west of the Mississippi and was funded by Union Pacific Foundation. In the course of this work, I not only broadened my knowledge base of national education but also learned a great deal about how a fortune 500 company operates. It was fascinating and hugely rewarding work.

From 1995 - 2000 I worked in 12 middle schools in Alabama, North Carolina, and Maine as part of a five year Middle School Partnership sponsored by Champion Paper Company. My work focused on helping schools develop leadership teams from the ground up to lead change in their schools. I also provided direct professional development to client school administration and staff. This work led to close working relationships with these educators as I worked in their schools monthly for 5 years.Needless to say, coming from a rural Maine background, this work gave me invaluable perspective and experience working with diverse geographic populations.
