Business Intelligence and Analytics program service owner supporting development and managing strategy and implementation for BI, analytics, and data visualizations for diverse academic and administrative units across UC San Diego. Provide outreach to and coordination with customers seeking solutions. Responsible for analyzing current business practices, processes and procedures internal to the group and with external customers, and for identifying future opportunities and architectures. Coordinate employee development programs, implement quality improvement practice and assure timely achievement of objectives. Set and implement standards for development and production support across the BI architecture to assure trustworthy delivery of quality data solutions.

Devise, coordinate and promote effective strategies for developing, deploying and managing diverse BI solutions across a variety of teams and tools. Establish standards, contribute to overall data governance methodology and implementation, design and plan data marts to support specific subject areas, and mentor developers in both the centralized data warehouse and departmental analytic teams. Evangelize existing tool capabilities including coordinating periodic business intelligence user group meetings to publicize features, use cases and overall availability of options at hand within the existing and upcoming tool sets. Explore and collaborate in selection of new tools to support the overall data warehouse / business intelligence effort and community.

These projects ranged from ticketing systems such as Service Now and Jira, to Knowledge Management tools such as Consona, call systems such as Avaya and alert monitoring systems such as CA SOI.• Determine database/data mart business requirements. Create logical and physical database/data mart design in standard star/snowflake schema to support those requirements.• Direct ETL process including data quality and testing.• Create and manage the metadata layer of the IT data warehouse to support development of end user solutions.• Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse team lead.
