As the lead strategist and Executive Officer for Security Force Assistance (SFA) in the USMC led Regional Command Headquarters in South-west Afghanistan I was responsible for all planning efforts in support of the 450+ advisors fielded across Helmand and Nimroz provinces. Responsibilities included:- establishing the conditions-based approach to changing the engagement strategy between ISAF and Afghan security forces.- Engagement as the lead SFA strategist in all basing and force posture issues.- Liaison with UK and USMC force generators for future force requirements for Advisors.- Assisting in the planning efforts to close BASTION whilst ensuring the advising efforts in support of 215 Maiwand Corps (Afghan Army) and Helmand Police could be maintained as outputs.- Lead for internal process reviews including the organisational design of the SFA staff

I was responsible for the development of processes to measure the sustainability of British Army equipment (FE@S). Achieved relief for British Army of 200M GBP relating to the recapitalization of Urgent Operational Requirements from OP TELIC (Iraq).Requirement definition for land based equipment support solutions covering traditional, contracting for availability contracts and innovative solutions to meet the emergent changes in Defence planning, funding and structures. The value proposition of the project (Armoured Vehicle Support Transformation) was 650M GBP to outsource the maintenance, repair and inventory management for the UK armoured vehicle fleet.

Head of a dispersed training team planning and delivering training across 9 locations in the Greater London area. Responsible for a £1M pa training budget to deliver both individual competency and trade training as well as Departmental functional level training both in the UK and overseas.
