Collectively negotiate on behalf of members for enhancement of Terms and Conditions of employment, including Wage Negotiations, TUPE and Redundancies.Knowledge of Employment Law including Discrimination Law, Equality Act, ACAS code of practice and process for conciliation.

Lifelong Learning Project WorkerUSDAWDecember 2006 to September 2021In-depth experience of working with a large number of employers - especially in retail - regarding their learning and development agendas and liaising with their leaders and managers to agree the best way to support their workforces. This underpinned my role in promoting and supporting Usdaw's Lifelong Learning Project in the North West; coordinating our local and national approach to deliver a learning agenda which makes learning accessible and affordable. Responsiblity for developing the learning infrastructure and network of 150+ Union Learning Representatives (ULRs) and 20+ Coordinators. Regularly negotiate with key stakeholders such as further education colleges and training providers to build a network of support organisations.Deliver detailed and informative presentations to different audiences and give advice to reps, members and the wider trade union on topics such as apprenticeships and training packages. Regularly contribute to campaigns on topics such as ‘saving our shops’ and ‘mental health awareness’.This is in addition to researching, analysing, interpreting and evaluating information and producing reports such as learner and membership data and density, rep and member engagement / retention.
