UB Homework Helpers is an organization at the University at Buffalo (UB) that provides free tutoring and other educational services to K-12 students from low-income households in an effort to address educational inequality locally. It is a partnership with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s New York City based nonprofit, AOC’s Homework Helpers. I co-founded and currently direct the organization, leading a team of 100+ volunteers and interns.

As a paralegal at Vinal & Vinal, P.C, I handled all steps of social security cases including completing applications for benefits, filing appeals, reviewing and summarizing medical records, and drafting pre-hearing and appeal briefs. I also assisted with civil litigation matters, including performing legal research, interviewing clients, and drafting pleadings and other legal documents.

Project Mona’s House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to shedding light on human trafficking, restoring those that have been victimized, and preventing human trafficking through education, legislation, and community engagement. At Project Mona’s House, I completed multiple research projects on the intersection of human trafficking, constitutional law, and criminal justice.
