Taxonomic classification of insects and arachnids as part of an ecological study in an area affected by a forest fire. Involved field work, laboratory work, data analysis, report writing, and formal presentation.The results of our study implied that in areas destroyed by natural disaster, the return of certain populations of arthropods is enhanced by the presence of the carcasses of large mammals. One notable exception for this is the population of arachnids, of which the reestablishment in an area of forest fire is hindered by a lack of ability to maintain traditional hunting patterns because forest fires remove suitable areas to build webs (i.e. plants are burned down).
