I’ve worked with children since I was 13 and officially at 17 at my first job at Kindercare. I have worked with students with Autism spectrum disorder, cognitive disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioral disorders. I have half of an associates in early childhood education that I started at 16, I as a teenager had health issues making it difficult to finish my education. I’ve worked hard to finish high school and get my diploma, I have a young daughter that has pushed me to become someone I would have wanted in my life as a child. I work with children to be a support to help them developmentally and to help them feel safe emotionally. I have worked with paperwork my whole work career and data tracking as well as data analysis on behaviors and new behaviors as well as new skills. Cultivating a safe place for all students and people regardless of their backgrounds, gender, race and home life. Working with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder or other various disabilities has allowed me to focus more on the mental and emotional aspects of students and people I work or have worked with and how I could improve on myself to be a better support for those around me. Taking time to reflect and analyze situations and putting together a safe transition to other activities and places is a skill I value most about myself, I keep the safety of my students and others in mind. Data tracking on students testing and class work, and providing alternatives for activities that bolster the students learning and experiences. Team oriented learning and activities with students and other staff. Working within a team for all students and my student specifically for their needs and goals physically and mentally.
