Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) is a support system and study session at the University of Manchester whereby second year students help and support the first year students through weekly sessions to facilitate their learning and university life. My role is to organise sessions with my co-leader, and host a weekly zoom session where (first year) students join and ask any questions they need help with. It has allowed skills such as organisation, communication and leadership to develop further.

As a part of my university degree, I carried out a placement year/ year in industry in Jet Aviation's Interior Design Studio, where I was exposed to a multitude of roles and tasks during this 9 month internship. My main role as the material support included tasks such as; organising the material library, transferring materials (with suppliers, physical descriptions and images) onto a digital platform called Team Center, ordering and tracking samples for projects as well as being in continuous communication and meetings with these suppliers, as well as team members of projects (which varied over multiple departments). Within this role I also helped my team with the ongoing projects by selecting suitable fabrics for various applications within the plane, created material lists and so on. I was additionally in charge of creating new mood and material boards of potential concepts for projects which would be used for customer meetings, and had the opportunity to work in a different sector of Jet Aviation, being the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department, for two weeks. Within this department I learned about another aspect of business, and produced and proof read contracts between the SCM department and their suppliers. Overall it was a very fulfilling and beneficial experience where I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge that will benefit me hugely in the future.
