I am currently working here as a part-time co-teacher while getting my education. I help with curriculum and planning, caring for children, engaging kids in imaginative play, gross and fine motor skills, and creativity. I work in a classroom of 2-3 year olds, and a class of 3-4 year olds.

I worked as an RBT with children between the ages of 2-5 years of age who were diagnosed with autism, and sometimes additional developmental delays. I used Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy as a way to help with behaviors and different developmental and social functions. My position hours changed once Covid hit, so I left the position earlier to move back to California.

I worked as a teacher's aide in the preK classroom with children between the ages of 4 and 5. We would often combine our classes with children between 3-4 years of age. I would also work as a floater when I needed to sub for a teacher who was out. I then got promoted to a Head Teaching position in the infant room in July 2019. I ran a classroom with infants between the ages of 6 weeks to 1 year old. These positions required a lot of energy and creativity. Me and my aide would be helping babies round the clock with eating, sleeping, changing diapers, and playing. I also helped in cleaning and organizing the classroom.

I volunteered here before getting hired on for several months. Once employed, I cared for children who came from traumatic backgrounds between the ages of 2 to 5 years old. Every child I worked with had experienced some form of trauma, lived in poverty, and/or had a developmental delay. I helped in de-escalating tense situations in the classroom.
