CurrentLife Skill Therapist, Dakota Community IncorporatedAssisted adult clients with daily living skills who’s abilities are impaired due to brain injury, stroke or to other cognitive impairment, Assisted in personal hygiene, bathing, changing clothes, brushing teeth, meals and exercise.Goal setting with clients to help them achieve independence in some form of their lives.Social activities outside home assisting them walking or in wheelchair assuring their safety.; Admit new patients suffering from a variety of mental illness and or chemical dependency.Conduct safety check of patient to assure safety to both patient and staff.Fill out personal items of patient’s belongings, take patients vital signs and chart information.Give policy information and explain daily programs and give tour of facility.Manage milieu by performing 15 minute staggered checks on patients safety, following hospital policies, observing patients attitude and over all demeanor. One to one and group counseling dealing with anger, depression, stress, chemical dependency.Observe and chart patient’s daily activity, hygiene, demeanor, participation and progress or lack thereof.Respond to Codes assisting co-workers and/or security with patients endangering safety to others or themselves in a destructive or harmful manner.Participate in the discharge of patient from hospital according to Discharge Policy and Safety Procedure.
