I have received formal training at the University of the Sciences—Philadelphia College of Pharmacy where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Studies (2012) and I graduated with my Doctorate of Pharmacy degree in May, 2014. I possess hospital pharmacist experience as a clinical staff pharmacist at PinnacleHealth System in Harrisburg, Pa. Throughout my experience, my skills were utilized heavily in the IV room, supervising the technicians and ensuring sterility and accuracy. On different shifts, I was able to work closely with patients, counseling them on their medications and the side effects that they may experience, as well as verifying computerized physician order entry. I received three additional years of hospital pharmacy experience as a pharmacy intern at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. At this top-rated hospital, I performed tasks such as IV admixture preparation, chemotherapy preparation, drug dispensing and delivery, and participated in hospital codes. I staffed various pharmacies located in the hospital, including the central inpatient pharmacy, ICU pharmacy, NICU pharmacy, OR pharmacy, and the ER pharmacy, and aided the pharmacists at each location in clinical decision making. Throughout my experience at PinnacleHealth and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, I have encountered and overcome challenges with inventory, missing medications, and urgent cases requiring high-level care. I have always persevered to streamline, organize, and refine day-to-day activities for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
