About Julia Rakowsky

I am passionate about environmental conservation, preservation of natural resources, and climate change mitigation. I have a bachelor's of science in Biology from Ursinus College and have extensive skills in field and lab research. Through my interdisciplinary biology research experiences at Ursinus College and Stanford University, I became proficient in science writing and science communication as well as data collection and analysis. While interning at the Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center, I became Advanced SCUBA Certified and gained hands on skills through conducting marine ecological surveys and restoring coral reefs. As a 21st Century Conservation Fellow at Natural Lands, I gained skills in land stewardship, environmental education, and conservation easement monitoring. I also enjoy learning languages- I am fluent in Ukrainian and proficient in Spanish and Russian. I enjoy volunteering with various organizations; my recent experience includes teaching ESL courses to Spanish-speakers at ACLAMO community center in Pottstown, PA.
