Support Worker
Current Supporting the children in planned, child initiated and adult led learning activities. Assist with the setting up of challenging and stimulating learning situations indoors and outdoors to help the children develop skills of sharing, co-operating, organising, and problem solving, Listening, talking, and responding to children in a range of learning contexts Providing encouragement, giving help when needed and showing appreciation of children’s efforts, Support the positive Management of children’s behaviour, Prepare materials/resources (craft area, home-corner etc) in such a way to enable children to make clear and thoughtful choices. Use clearing and tidying routines as opportunities for adult/child interaction and children’s learning. Supervision of meals and mealtimes and where appropriate, preparation of children’s snacks and meals. Carry out risk assessments and safety checks of the building and play equipment before and after use. Undertake such domestic chores are as necessary for the efficient running of the nursery. Through my observation of the children, I pass on notes the practitioners to assist in their report writing.
