Responsibilities:Overall leadership on the Fundraising strategy and team involving:• Working alongside the Development Director to translate the fundraising strategy into an overall annual operations plan to generate our income from major donors, corporates, trusts and foundations, our Somerset communities, events, individual giving, in memory giving and legacies.• Managing the objectives and the relevant key performance indicators for the team, monitoring progress and progress reporting.• Ensuring all fundraising activity is compliant with relevant charity and other statutory legislation and conforms to IOF codes of conduct and practice.• Keeping abreast of changes in market practices and trends in charitable giving both locally and nationally• Identifying potential new income streams/events• In collaboration with the Communication and Marketing Team, ensuring consistent corporate messaging across all fundraising activity and marketing plans for each area• To manage the planning and implementation of capital/revenue appeals• To lead on opportunities to work with the clinical team to develop existing and new income opportunities.• Be an excellent ambassador of the hospice, fostering strong relationships in the community• All staff are responsible for ensuring they follow good infection control practices at all times and that they are familiar with infection control policies, procedures and guidance. Undertaking the necessary level of training relevant to their area of work. Communication and people skillsHigh level communications skills and an ability to mix across all social groups. Ability to manage and motivate a diverse staff team. Excellent written and good IT skills.

Manage the agreed fundraising plan for the region and, propose and agree revenue targets and operational budgets for the future development of the region.Maintain appropriate control over the regional budget by monitoring revenue, expenditure and the performance of all staff Ensure that all income and expenditure is correctly accounted in accordance with the charity’s procedures.Manage the daily activities of all staff in the region, providing support & guidance Ensure that all regional fundraising activity is legal, ethical and conducted to the highest possible standards.Provide leadership and motivation to the Community Fundraising teamMonitor and maximise the full potential of the charity’s regional supporter base Manage recruitment of new staff Maintain close contact with Nursing Service Managers & local Marie Curie Shops Managers Organise regular team meetings Establish and maintain good relationships with the local mediaLiaise with other members of the Marketing and Fundraising Division, Fundraising Development and Fundraising Operations teams

Developing and implementing an Area Fundraising plan for the region aligned with the National and Regional fundraising strategy Managing fundraising activities, projects and to line manage my team of ten, focusing on the development of volunteer and supporter relationships Key responsibilities includeEstablishing and developing relationships within the organisation, building relationships with current and potential major donors and corporate supporters Recruiting, inducting and developing staff across their area of responsibility or project.Undertaking PPRDs/appraisals and agreeing personal development plans as well as performance management of staff.Representing & deputising for the Head of Community Fundraising as and when required
