Multi-purpose role. (1) liaison with small research funding charity (the Institute for Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapy), (2) administrative and project support for Prof of Oncology, (3) some academic research. I've done very varied work in this role.- Project management: Organising conferences, oversight for a large infrastructure project, development of a funding agreement, academic projects and collaborations.- Staff management: Direct line-management for 3. Team management for 8 people.- Budget management and financial reporting; Budget of up to £500,000 a year. Costings for projects and budget setting. Quarterly breakdown of expenditure and contribution to annual reports.- Academic writing (reviews, primary papers and book chapters).- Policy and procedural support for the ICVI: drafting documents for the development of policy (funding policy, animal animal experimentation, peer review etc).- Non-scientific writing: reports for charity Trustees and for other funding bodies; drafted material for newsletters and website and for other fundraising purposes.- Worked with a range of academic and non-academic committees - Principal point-of-contact for a range of external academics, societies, big pharma/biotech industry, other non-academic colleagues including those providing financial support.

Two postdoctoral fellowships.1. Working for Sharon Tooze on the role of ERM proteins in regulated secretion. Field of cellular biology. Techniques: Protein biochemistry, molecular biology, subcellular fractionation, HPLC.2. Working for Joyce Taylor-Papadimitriou on cancer immunotherapy projects including the first CRUK incubator project for the development of novel cancer vaccines (biotech industry collaboration) and the development of PLU-1 as a target immunotherapy in breast cancer.
