For example, I created a troubleshooting guide for identifying and solving almost every possible guest TV problem. This is helpful to new hires who have not yet had the chance to learn through trial and error experience, and it reduces the inconvenience for the guest since the TV can be fixed promptly. When our pool was closed indefinitely due to COVID-19, I made a summer printable for the guests that listed local outdoor swimming holes. I found that families were especially grateful to have this. I also printed off connect-the-dot pages so that they would be ready to go for families with upset, screaming children. The kids quickly became absorbed in the activity and were able to calm down. This made the parents calmer too, while also limiting the disturbance of other guests. Additionally, I facilitated the rescue of an abandoned cat that sometimes hung out in the parking lot. It went to a no-kill shelter and was later adopted!
