I am a recent graduate of Frostburg State University with a major in mass communication, and dual minors in journalism and sustainability studies. I managed to graduate a semester early, summa cum laude, and was fortunate enough to get chosen as commencement speaker for my graduating class.I have had my work published locally and nationally, including articles in college newspapers and magazines, as well as an article on the site Project Censored, which specializes in stories underreported by corporate media organizations.Most recently I have had the great fortune of being a social media intern at the company FrostburgFirst. While there, I have expanded my experience within the realms of editing, content writing, graphic design, marketing, and multi-platform posting. The position has involved writing and editing digital media in the form of blog posts and related graphics, photographing local businesses, interviewing local business owners, and scheduling daily/weekly social media posts across several different platforms.In terms of volunteering and extracurriculars, I have hosted several radio shows for my college student station, XFSR. I was then offered the chance to host a show on the county wide station, WFWM, which starts this Fall semester. That process entails planning, recording, and editing my own audio content each week. I am also a member of my school's sustainability student group, which I have worked with in coordinating and promoting events regarding ecobricking (a plastic waste management process). As I approach the work force, my ultimate aim is to help people get their information out into the world as accurately and efficiently as possible without sacrificing aesthetic value. Whether it takes the form of journalistic articles, social media posts, or photos, I want to make sure that content reads well and looks good.
