I began by consulting business, pre-law, pre-med, and nursing students from their entrance into higher education throughout the dissertation phase at Grand Valley University, Cloud County Community College, and Westminster College. I have also provided conversational English instruction to non-native speakers and writers of all ages at the community college and university levels.

While teaching critical reading and Composition I, I enjoyed strong and productive collaborative relationships with teaching, support, and administrative staff. Collaboration and professional development of faculty became a focus, as I continued to grow as a student-centered college educator.

Fulton, Missouri

I taught four sections of college language/study strategies courses and, as is the policy at this private institution, provided weekly academic support to my students. I discovered that I have a strong passion for student advising/mentoring when I assisted a caseload of 13-15 students who were on academic probation.

As annual programs assistant, I processed daily gifts and correspondence with donors, vendors, and college stakeholders through Raiser's Edge, the donor database. One thoroughly enjoyable aspect of the position was the opportunity to collaborate with wonderful people on a daily basis, across the campus, on event planning, writing, promotions, and other projects. The experience inspired me to return to graduate studies to pursue higher education leadership as a vocation.
